New Patterns make for New Treasures!

I had a creative day in my studio yesterday. I bought a couple of new patterns just released by Jamie at Country Whims and had to see what I could do with them. I love the way they turned out.   Here are my new treasures...I even got them listed in my Etsy shop last night.

The sheep is much larger than I imagined it would be but he is sooo cute with his Faith Hope Love blanket. He can stand or be hung on the wall or over a door nob.

Done Painting!

Here it is- I now have a gray room instead of mauve. I'm loving the way it turned out- I always get a little nervous with the color I've picked out until I get the first wall done and can step back and evaluate. I only remember one time I repainted immediately as I just couldn't live with the color I had picked out. That is pretty impressive with all the rooms I have painted in my days!

And here is my updated lamp- I spray painted it with a hammered look spray paint. It looks pretty darn good, if I say do so myself! Now to decide on my next project.

A Spring Makeover

It is a breezy, but awesome spring day today. Our forecast called for 75 degrees so I decided to take a break from crafting and give one of my bedrooms a facelift. Here are a couple of before pictures.

It actually hit 79 degrees today- another weather record high for us here in SD. It is so great to be having record highs instead of record lows! I am done painting but I want to put it back together before I add my after pictures. Check back tomorrow and see what color I went with.
I have an update planned for this little lamp, too! And no, it does not involve the table saw! Hope to see ya tomorrow.

A great Monday!

Good Monday to All-
I have had a great start to the week. First, Rose of Baskets by Rose has featured me on her blog as her Monday Merchant Circle. I'd love it if you took a moment to stop by her blog and check it out. Just click the link below.

I am so excited...Walmart finally has my favorite stuffing available online again. For the last two years I have been unable to make some of the big snowmen that are so popular at my shows.  They will be back this fall!
I ordered 3 boxes last week and picked it up today. It took self control not to order a dozen boxes as I don't want to be without it again, but... I am kind of hoping when the fabric comes back to our store that maybe they will stock this also. I have my fingers crossed! The manager told me our fabric department was to be reopened in March- no activity so far but I am watching and waiting anxiously.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for information on a new giveaway and see what I will be donating!

Happy Friday!

The weatherman tells us it is going to be in the upper 50's to 60 degrees for the next week..AWESOME! Not our typical South Dakota weather for April let alone March. (Last year in March my Christmas decorations were still buried under  2 1/2 feet of snow.) Not the case this year- in fact, most of the 8 inches we received in our last storm has already disappeared.

As a crafter, I am usually working in a different season than I am living in, so... I am used to feeling out of sync with the weather and the calendar. But I am really having trouble deciding what I should be working on-usually when it is sunny and warm I am making snowmen...but it isn't even Eater yet! I gotta do a couple of more Spring items before I start getting ready for Fall! This is what I decided to do.

Earlier I showed you this project. I decided the cardinal wasn't quite right so I replaced it with a crow...
and I made a bumble bee to buss around on a piece of wire! I'm liking this better.
I'm sticking with spring for awhile yet! These body parts of muslin and warm & natural don't look like much here but it is a start. I am making another pull toy and a couple more bunnies. I'll show you how they turn out next week.
I'm also trying to come up a new item for a giveaway. Next month it will be a year since I first opened my blog. I have to admit, it was pretty neglected for the better part of the year, but I am trying to change that! And an anniversary is still an anniversary, so I want to do my first giveaway. Keep watching for details.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

A new creation and a thrift shop find!

Wow- where do the days go!
First I have a picture for a team challenge to create a 'destash' item from things in your studio. I come up with this teenie Annie, made some flowers out of muslin that I stained last fall and added some other stash items in a watering can. Then I stood back and thought 'How would I ever mail this without the greens getting 'injured' during transportation?' Guess its back to the think tank for another creation. This one will have to hang around until craft shows this fall-probably have to substitute a crow for the cardinal!
I decided to take a break one day last week. A friend and I toured the thrift shops around town to see if we could come up with any treasures to create with. I found a couple of things for the shop, however- I was most excited about this old iron I found for $2.50! The sole plate is missing but I still thought it was cool!
And I had the perfect home for it on top of the vintage sewing machine my Mother-in-Law gave me. I need to stand the old wooden ironing board beside it that I got at an auction last year. Well, time to get to work- have a great day!
