Taking a break~

Where has the week gone? I have been busy getting ready to be gone for awhile so time has flown by. I am off  to Chicago/Indiana tomorrow to spend several days with my daughters, S-I-L and grandson! I am so exicted! I don't even have a picture to post today but hope to post some soon. My shop will be on vacation as I have not been able to convince my husband he could do shipping for me! Oh well...
Have a geat weekend-
Deb

Skinny Uncle Sam and a Prize!

What a great day! I have enjoyed all the comments on my Uncle Sam, the chubby years. He already has been adopted and will be on his way to a new home tomorrow.
Today I worked on another version...here is Uncle Sam, after several months with Weight Watchers. He is considerably thinner and no tummy!

AND... the mailman delivered a special box today.  I received the prize that I won from Deb over at Paxton Valley Folk Art.   His name is Avery and he is the most adorable owl!  Deb also included a bonus drawer hanger. How much fun is that!
Thank You so much for the awesome giveaway, Deb!

Back in my studio

Well, I finished my spring cleaning and got back to my studio. I am soooo happy that is done!                                                                       Recently I had a customer ask me if I had an Uncle Sam...which I didn't. Now I do! I rummaged through my fabric and actually find some colors I could use. Several hours later, this is my Uncle Sam! I know why I buy most of my patterns-it takes a wee bit longer to start something without any idea of where it is actually going, or probably more importantly, how I'm going to get it there!  I'm kind of thinking this guy turned out pretty cute! Yes, he is a tad heavier than most Uncle Sams are so I am going to call him--- Uncle Sam, the chubby years.    I have one more I want to work up-he will be a little thinner than this guy. I will post pictures as soon as I get him done. I also have a new cat to take pictures of as soon as it is dry.
Have you had a chance to register for my giveaway yet?  I will be drawing and announcing a winner this Friday so you only have a couple of days left to enter! Click on the sheep in the upper left hand corner to find my giveaway post.
Bye for now and have a great evening...Deb

Spring Fever

I have kind of taken a break from my computer this week.  I seem to have caught a case of Spring fever and have been doing some long overdue cleaning.  I took some tylenol but I am still cleaning! Guess I will have to check into antibiotics if I don't get over it soon, although I think it is a virus so antibiotics would do no good!

My house really did need some attention. Seems my craft studio is my preferred place to spend my time. With only my husband and I at home, I continually tell myself "It can't be that dirty" and head to...yup-my studio!

I hope to finish this crazy quest today, take the weekend off- after all it is Easter- and see what the weather is on Monday. I have a little more yard work to do but... that urge to head to my studio is pulling strong! We will see which wins come Monday.

Since I have not created anything new this week and pictures of dust are not that exciting, I decided to share a wonderful treasury Brandy from TheLilPrimCabin made this morning. Thanks for including me my PAFA sister!

Happy Easter everyone!

Challenge prize and Easter Exchange Basket

What a fun mail day I had Monday! Check it out...

First, here is the pear pinkeep I won from a destash challenge from Valerie of Yorkies Primitives.  How fun is that? It is so awesome-I love it!  It has already found a home between my sewing machines! I want to say 'Thank You' to all of you that voted for me! And Thank You, Valerie for hosting this wonderful challenge.

I also received an unbelievable box of treats from my swap partner in the PAFA Easter Basket Swap. My partner was Karen Barbera of Buttons in the Attic.  My favorite color is purple- I got a purple bunny, purple peeps, plastic eggs with treats in them (2 of those were purple) and the best Easter treat that comes in a purple and yellow box...cadbury eggs.... A WHOLE box of them for ME! Yup, hid those from the hubbie :o).  And all of these treats are nested in purple grass.

And finally, Karen made this awesome fabric basket that is holding all of my goodies. Did she spoil me or what?  I am going to make some spring bowl fillers to put in my basket when the goodies are gone...guessing that won't take me all that long (to empty the basket, that is)!
Thank You so much Karen for  all the goodies!

On top of this, I  won a couple of giveaways last week and will post pictures when my prizes arrive. Am I on a roll or what!

Bye for now,
Deb

Busy weekend!

Greetings on this beautiful Sunday evening!

What a gorgeous weekend it has been.  I got some yard work done; went to a Home Show and stopped for ice cream with some friends; my husband and I had pizza and fun with Natalie (Tins and Treasures) and her husband; had lunch today with my brother and sister-in-law who were in town for a visit; and made a bunny!
And my Azalea bush is blooming already- it was  May last year before those flowers peeked out.

I sat down to take a break see what was going on inside my computer. I was thrilled to find Karen from Prims Gone Wild has featured me in her  Monday Merchant Circle Post for the PAFA Etsy team we are on. I would love it if you would hop over to her blog and check it out! Stop by her Etsy Shop, too if you have time. She has a shop full of wonderful prim treasures to drool over!
I also want to take a moment to extend a very special 'Thank You' to all of you who have stopped by to register for my Etsy Shop Anniversary Giveaway and are helping me celebrate by sharing my giveaway on your blogs and facebook. The support has been awesome and I have flown past the 60 followers mark on my blog so... I will be giving two sheep away!  If you haven't entered yet you have until April 12.

Stop by my facebook page for an Etsy Shop Special!
